what's the catch - FAQs about 000webhost

So I just found out this website: http://members.000webhost.com/ – it basically offers free web hosting if you've got a registered domain name. Anyone using this site and is it any good? I don't get how this can be free...

Sorry the link is actually http://www.000webhost.com. :-P I signed up and the ftp is working...dunno bout updating my nameservers yet though I want some opinions people!!

i guess it just depends on how much tracking you will be anticipating and how sensitive the data...

I mean if you need it for a simple personal page, then I'm sure it would be fine. Something seems a little dodgy though. I only trust hosts that "speak good english"...

I guess for a test you could upload 250mb of files and try out your 10gb bandwidth!

They should be fine for a personal site, although with 100 GB monthly transfer, they're definitely overselling
Looks like they might be reselling Hosting24.com (their server's reverse DNS is server.hosting24.com), which looks like a pretty dodgy host (they have "unlimited" space and bandwidth for $4.95 per month... I'd like to see what they do when you start hosting terabytes of stuff :P)

I probably wouldn't host anything that's really important on there, but a personal site would be fine.

Create A Website For Free with No Annoying Ads

Having a website is necessary if you want to sell a product or service, run an online business, non-profit organization, or online newspaper. But, maybe you just need a website for a one-time event, to keep your club or organization updated about upcoming meetings, to post information about a wedding, baby shower or family reunion and you really don’t want to buy a domain name or pay for monthly hosting.

Setting up and maintaining a website can be a pain because you often need to have basic knowledge of HTML, PHP, Javascript, Flash, CSS, or Photoshop. It can also be costly to run a website if you buy a domain name and have monthly hosting bills. This is okay if you are planning on maintaining a website for business or for a long-term project but why pay when you can get it for free?

It used to be that the only option for creating a free website was using a service that placed annoying ads at the top of every page and gave you limited design options. And to get a really good website you had to pay a designer and spend a lot for hosting. Today we have more free web design options and here are a couple you should check out.

Tips Using PPC Systems

Text ads are outperforming banner ads 5 to 1 times better because they are specifically targeting to the user that is searching for something in particular, plus they are easy and inexpensive to implement. One of the best ways of getting visitors is to use Google Adwords, you will write these short classified type ads, these ads will show up in the serps and visitors will click on these ads and become your potential customer. These ads are contextually aware.

When adding your keywords make sure they are tightly focused and when writing the top sales line make sure the header includes some of the keywords. This is true because the more keywords you find, the more visitors you could attract. Always use your keywords as often as you can in your Ad: in the Title, in the body and even in your domain name.

Before you start a PPC ad campaign to sell your products, you need to know the following 2 things. When purchasing PPC traffic and it doesn’t matter if your purchase from Overture or Google or other PPC Networks the most important thing you should do is track your traffic? The reason you want to track your traffic is because you want to make sure it converts into sales. The leaders in PPC are Overture and Google and they control 90% of the market, if you want traffic and you have the money you should consider using them if you want maximum exposure. Using Google and Overture will bring you targeted traffic.

The paid for ad system reporting the statistics is not in real-time, the delay on the results really don’t have an effect on what you are trying to achieve “getting traffic to your site” and when compare adwords to other PPC providers they are definitely beyond those other providers.

When choosing keywords make sure that you don’t choose general terms, the more specific the search term, the more targeted traffic you will receive and your click through rate will be higher.. Create campaigns with many search terms, make sure you do some research and you pick the terms that relate to your site. Example if you are an electrician then keywords like electricians, wires, electricity etc would be great keywords.

First, you will need to create an ad group, which means you design your ad, select your keywords, determine the maximum cost per click that you are willing to spend and define your bid amounts.

Write an attractive ad - you have a very limited space to write your ad so you need to make each word count if you want your visitors to click through to your web site or landing page. Since testing can produce a nearly constant improvement in your click through rate (CTR). Google’s pay per click system, or AdWords, maintained that standard for relevancy.

Let's face it, it's not rocket science and one can get plenty of ideas for advert style from looking in one's niche market, and there are plenty of keyword tools so building a list is a 10 minute job. This is a reason why niche marketing is the way to go. If you have a small niche to start with, then Broad Match will give you the most exposure.

Do you know what precautions as a parent you need to take to keep your kids safe while they are ever so vulnerable online? Do you know how many predators are out there seeking to destroy a young person's life? Having a high speed Internet connection is a wonderful tool but you have to be aware of the dangers that lurk on the Web so you and your family can be safe.

Below are some tips to help you keep your children safe while they are online.

  • Talk to Your Kids — Have a general online safety conversation with your children to explain what they should be leery of and let them know you are always there in case they get into trouble.

  • Monitoring Computer Use — Monitor what your child does on the computer and don't just turn a blind eye.

  • Monitoring Softeware — Install or see if your high-speed Internet company offers monitory software that will allow you to see what your child is looking at on the net and will permit you to block certain content.

  • Family Room Computer — Don't let your child have a computer in their bedroom. Instead have the computer in a family room where you can supervise their online usage.

  • Child's Behavior — Watch for signs that your child is acting differently as they could be being bullied or stalked while online.

  • Anti-Virus Software — Install anti-virus software on all home computers to keep hackers at bay.

Adsense in Blogger Tutorial

Faster Fox make your Fire Fox Faster More

If your just aren’t satisfied with your current Internet speeds and can’t afford a faster connection at the moment, then the Fasterfox extension is just for you. Fasterfox uses a variety of methods to increase browsing speeds, including a unique prefetching system which uses idle bandwidth to load and cache the links on the webpages you are currently using. Fasterfox is fully compatible with all Firefox versions from 1.0 to 1.5.0.* and weighs in at a tiny 91kb.

Fasterfox allows the user to choose between 3 optimized settings or customize the settings to their own preferences and can be found from within Firefox’s Options (Tools > Extensions > right click on Fasterfox > Options). This extension also comes with a built in pop-up blocker which, in my opinion, is very handy.

the Need for Researching Keywords

Google Adsense Tips – the Need for Researching Keywords

Most web based entrepreneurs are of course familiar with the concept of keywords, and these professionals no doubt already know how important these focused words can be to the success of their business. When it comes to profiting from the Google AdSense program, keywords are no less important, and it is vital for all existing and would be program participants to do their research and choose their keywords carefully.

This is because Google will use the keywords included within the site as part of its criteria when deciding which types of ads to host on your site. Including the wrong keywords can cause the program to host inappropriate and less profitable ads, while using the right keywords can bring those targeted ad dollars right to your virtual doors.

Navigating the waters of keywords and their effect on Google AdSense is not easy, however, and one of the most common mistakes seen by web consultants is focusing exclusively on the highest paying keywords. These webmasters naturally assume that the highest paying keywords will naturally yield the best results but in fact this is not always the case. After all, it is not enough for a Google AdSense enabled site to merely attract visitors. In order to be successful and profitable, that site must keep visitors there long enough for them to review, and click on, the ads being hosted.

It is therefore, essential for all AdSense program participants to look at their sites with the eyes of a visitor. This can of course be difficult to do, but it is an essential part of the customer service process. It is important to look at your site as if you were encountering it for the first time. Take note of what the site has to offer, what it does well, and what could be improved. It may be helpful to have several others look at your site as well and provide their feedback. This kind of honest feedback can be invaluable in producing a truly useful, intuitive and user friendly experience for visitors.

As you review your own site, consider the type of ads you would most likely expect to see there. For instance, if your site focuses on the antique car hobby, you might expect to see ads for car restoration companies, car show promoters, car parts catalogs and websites and the like.

After you have determined which types of ads you would like to attract to your site, try to incorporate the appropriate keywords into your site. Using keywords that are both popular and profitable is a winning strategy when designing your site to maximize AdSense revenue.

There are of course many ways to research the relative popularity of keywords, some free and some not. If you have an account established with the Google AdWords program, you can check the statistics available at the site to determine which are the most popular keywords in your area of expertise. In addition, the site provides the Google AdWords Keywords Tool. This handy tool allows website owners to quickly and easily find alternative keywords to use on their sites.

In addition to the tools provided by Google itself, there area number of other programs and websites which allow users to research keywords and choose the right ones. These keyword tracking tools can be quite valuable when it comes to designing, tweaking and optimizing websites for maximum effect and maximum AdSense revenue.
